Overview of Single Cycle Safety Circulating Valve

The Single Cycle Safety Circulating Valve is used as both safety valve and circulating valve in cased hole drill stem testing operation. The single cycle safety circulating valve is the pump thru RD circulating valve, which is operated by increasing the applied annulus pressure so that the annulus pressure at the tool reaches a predetermined value at which point the RD will burst.

* If remove the valve mechanism, the single cycle safety circulating valve can be converted into a
circulating valve only. And if remove the circulating ports, it will make the tool as the Pump Thru RD
safety valve.
* The Rupture Disc isolates the total annulus pressure from the air chamber in the power section of single
cycle safety circulating valve.
* Rupture Discs are available for a wide range of pressure and temperature applications.

The operation pressure of the rupture disc must be confirmed before the single cycle safety circulating valve is run in hole. And the proper Rupture Disc will be selected with the necessary pressure rating . According to the confirmed pressure, which is determined as per the data of mud weight, true vertical depth of the valve, bottomhole temperature, and maximum allowable annulus pressure.
